Coming out the same year as "Aretha Now" (1968), "Lady Soul" continued the run of great songs for Aretha, containing three hit singles, including the Carol King / Jerry Goffin / Jerry Wexler-penned "(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman".

It became her second gold seller and remained in the charts for over a year.
